100 Families in 100 Years

In 2016, we launched an initiative to help 100 families in our region by the time we reach our 100th year in business. We call this project 100 Families in 100 Years. Our goal is to pour back into our communities that have given so much to us. We have been very strategic and very focused in our efforts to work with families and organizations that share our values and vision and include our entire team in order to share the blessings that we have received with the communities in which we are involved.

HomeAid Atlanta gathered participants in a Care Day at Positive Growth where they focus on providing free maintenance and repairs for nonprofit organizations that serve the homeless community. We participated in a HomeAid Care Day, where we supplied pressure treated lumber to help rebuild a ramp and deck area, built a bench and worked with McMichael & Grey and Ashton Woods to clean and paint around the new campus, in order to make it feel fresh, clean and cared for.

Open Door Communities: 18/100

Every year, Open Door Communities hosts their classic 5k Run/Walk to raise money to end poverty. This year, their event was held virtually to adhere to CDC pandemic guidelines. Although the team was not able to physically participate in the race, we still sponsored a team and participated in the virtual 5k. It was great to help continue the mission at Open Door Communities and play a part in caring for the homeless population in Columbus.

The Shepherd’s Inn, located in downtown Atlanta, serves up to 450 men each day with the mission of shepherding them and helping them gain the tools to live a new and independent life. We sent a group of Brand Vaughan volunteers to help serve meals at their men’s shelter. We were also able to assist with cleaning and reorganizing their pantry to discard any expired or damaged food to ensure the health of their guests.

Out of Darkness: 13/100

Out of Darkness is an anti-trafficking ministry that works towards reaching, rescuing and restoring victims of commercial sexual exploitation. Our team provided framing, windows, doors and siding materials to remodel a safe home for women who have been rescued. While working to keep this location covert, our team was grateful for the opportunity to help these victims live in a safe and comfortable environment.
