Habitat for Humanity Dekalb: 2/100

Habitat for Humanity aims to alleviate the pain of housing instability. They have a vision for a world in which everyone has a decent place to live. While they empower people by providing affordable shelter, they do more than build new homes. They repair existing homes, provide legal assistance for title and land ownership, advocate for better laws, and assist with disaster prevention and recovery.

In February of 2017, through Habitat for Humanity, 20 members of the Brand Vaughan Lumber team were able to help build a home for a family in need. Building the exterior walls of this house was a fun and satisfying way to work together.

Two days and lots of sweat and laughter later, we were able to see the structural impact of our work. We’re thankful for the opportunity to help Habitat for Humanity in their mission to build homes, communities and hope.
